More and more candidates are using artificial intelligence to maximize their chances of succeeding in an interview or recruitment test. A trend that worries recruiters... while also raising questions about the very future of the hiring process.

Faced with the complexity of recruitment procedures, some candidates no longer hesitate to rely on AI tools to optimize their chances. ChatGPT, as well as specialized AIs like Final Round AI, are used to respond in real-time to technical tests during unsupervised online sessions, and also to simulate job interviews. These tools allow candidates to memorize series of question-and-answer sets very similar to those asked in real interviews. The line between preparation and cheating becomes blurred, especially since these same tools are sometimes used internally by recruiters to prepare their own questions. This results in a kind of technological duel, where everyone arms themselves with the same resources.

This rise of AI in recruitment does not leave companies indifferent. Amazon has banned the use of these tools by candidates, and Columbia University suspended a student for designing a test-assisting AI. Many experts recommend a return to face-to-face interviews, which are harder to manipulate. But it must be acknowledged that AI is already well entrenched in HR practices: sorting resumes, scoring applications, automated preliminary evaluations... Recruiters and candidates now exploit the same technologies, raising a fundamental question: what do we really want to evaluate?

Because ultimately, is it still cheating or already a skill? The article from Figaro highlights a fundamental trend: mastering artificial intelligence could soon be seen as an asset, even a requirement for certain positions. A logical evolution in a world where digital tools are now an integral part of professional life.

And what if tomorrow, AI became not just an interview secret... but a requirement on the resume?
