The British government recently announced a substantial investment in artificial intelligence (AI) research to fight climate change. This funding is part of a broader £13.9 billion plan dedicated to research and development for the fiscal year 2025/26 (Computing).
Ambitious Projects Underway
Among the supported initiatives, the AI4 Climate program, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, stands out for its innovative approach. It uses advanced AI and machine learning techniques to enhance the efficiency of climate information (Met Office).
