Italian CNIL Blocks Access to Deepseek

The Italian CNIL has decided to block access to Deepseek, which has also been removed from Google and Apple app stores. This measure stems from the service's privacy policy, which includes the collection of personal data such as phone numbers and email addresses, raising significant concerns within the Italian data protection authority.

The Italian authority has also requested more information from Deepseek regarding the nature of the data collected, their purposes, and where they are stored. So far, Deepseek has not responded to the authorities' inquiries.
